Too Drunk To Dream

…ain’t no drinking when the bottle’s dry…

Pearl Jam @ Great Woods, Mansfield Mass 6/30/08

When Pearl Jam roll into Great Woods and start off the night with a song that has been rarely played in the band’s storied career, you know that you’ve been invited to, well, not so much a ‘concert’ but an event.

the following is NOT an inferior youtube video:

“Wash”, set opener 6/30/08 (from ‘Lost Dogs’)

and then, after a stellar set, we’re treated to another nugget. Eddie and Jeff Ament perform a rare track, played just seven times prior.

“Bee Girl” Encore 1 opener, 6/30/08 (from ‘Lost Dogs’)

You know time is long, and life is short.
Begin to live while you still can.
Believe in nothing, believe me,
Those who can be trusted can change their mind.
When the anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time.
Everything you imagine needn’t be stuck in your mind.
Bee Girl, be a girl.
Bee Girl, be a girl.

…and of course no PJ show would be complete without:

(I’d click the link to youtube and watch this in their ‘higher quality’ mode)

‘Alive’ 6/30/08

As a bit of a music snob, I’m not supposed to subscribe to such music….. but I respond to this thought with a big…”Fuck That!”. Amazing event, amazing music. I’ll be riding a cloud of ear-ringing ecstasy for a couple more weeks….
